Abrial is a registered Occupational Therapist with experience working in rehabilitation, community care and acute medicine. She has a Masters in Occupational Therapy from Western University as well as a Bachelor of Arts and Science in Biological Sciences and psychology from the University of Windsor. Abrial is a certified yoga teacher (RYT200hr) and she holds certifications in Motivational Interviewing. She is certified Equestrian competition coach with over 12 years of experience coaching and mentoring. She has coached individuals of all ages and ability levels. She is also an ADP Authorizer for walkers, wheelchairs, powerchairs and scooters.
Abrial lives with various chronic illnesses and can apply her experience as a healthcare consumer to her work with clients. This lived experience has strengthened her motivation to guide individuals living with chronic pain and disease to find balance in life and engage in activities that are meaningful to them. Having experienced chronic illness while trying to uphold other responsibilities, Abrial hopes to help clients build resilience and live well. Abrial is passionate about the mind-body connection and the ability to improve quality of life through collaboration and evidence-based intervention.
Abrial has contributed to research in many disciplines and has presented at national conferences on the topics of mental health, and poverty. She is an advocate and has a passion for social justice. In her leisure, Abrial enjoys reading books, travelling, doing yoga and spending time with animals.
